Iris van Herpen presented her second ready-to-wear collection in Paris and seeing the catwalk images it reflected a strong and innovative collection with her typical artistic approach in material and body reflection.
The catwalk installation was done by Belgian artist Lawrence Malstaf. Three models were ‘vacuumed’ on stage in big Ziploc bags shrink-wrapped as to suggest suspended embryonic states. Her silhouettes were alien sci-fi inspired with sharp edges and organic geometries forms with shimmering dresses, trousers and jackets in fur. Keeping her technical, modern and experimental spirit this collection is ready to wear and I’m again very impressed and excited. Her incredible shoes included.
